Every 17th of March, Ireland celebrates one of its Patron Saints, St Patrick, with a national holiday and a traditional feast.
While it is not a public holiday in England, our school marks St Patrick’s Day with fun and enjoyable activities every year, usually on days closest to that date.
We have been enjoying Irish music and traditional dances, meeting Irish Characters ( Leprechauns, Saint Patrick, snakes …) and discovering the true story about the Patron Saint of Ireland
The colour green is associated with Ireland, so green ribbons, hats and shamrocks were worn on St Patrick’s Day by our children and they looked great!!
I’m a little leprechaun
Dressed in green,
The tiniest man
That you have seen.
If you ever catch me, so it’s told,
I’ll give you my big pot of gold.
We hope to find one….Good luck to everyone!
